Contempt and Post-Decree Enforcement

After a court has issued a final order in matters involving equitable division of property, alimony, child custody and child support, both parties are legally bound to adhere to the terms and conditions of the order. However, certain issues may arise after the final order is in effect, including:

  • Non-payment of alimony and/or child support
  • Non-compliance with custody provisions

The attorneys at Levine Smith Snider & Coburn can assist you with the enforcement of your order, typically by filing an action for contempt. In addition, we have significant experience representing clients who are defending such actions.
